Vin de France gris

Caladoc is a crossing of Malbec and Grenache, created in 1958. It is not offi cially permitted in any AOC. In France, about 1 400 hectares are covered with caladoc, mainly in Provence and Languedoc, to produce Vin de France blends. It has a high phenolic level, and gives subtle and well balanced rosés.

Tasting note

Very pale colour with silvery tinges. Redcurrant and citron notes on the nose at first. The palate is easy-going, light and zingy.

40% caladoc, 50% carignan, 10% merlot

Site

Clay-limestone subsoil, Würmian era alluvial deposits.

Yelds

60 hl / ha.

Winemaking

Light pressing keeping the different musts separate to ensure the wine has a pale colour. Temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks.

Packaging

75cl and 1.5l bottles. Kraft case 6 bottles lying down.
